Yellow brake light on?
Hi guys, despite a search I can't find an answer.
I have the brake pad wear sensor on, currently yellow. However I changed all the pads and discs about 3 weeks ago so I know they're ok. What else could it be? The brake fluid looks topped up and the car drive fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Theres a reset procedure on the e46 - it'll probably be the same for the z4, you have to put the ignition in position 2 for around 45 seconds and the light will go out, not 100% but worth a gosynthedup wrote:Hi guys, despite a search I can't find an answer.

Have you checked your brake fluid level? It could be low....

Perhaps a pressure sensor either outside of the ABS pump on pre-facelift cars or inside the pump on the facelift. A code reader would pick it up.

When I first got my Z4 a lorry in front of me shredded a tyre, part of which I drove over which tore out one of the brake sensors, bringing up the dash light.
You haven't had something dislodge one have you?
Once replaced, ignition on without starting, wait a while, 30 secs to a minute and it goes out.

Do you have Hill Start Assist and has it stopped working?
It's where when you take your foot off the brake it holds the car for a couple of seconds to stop you rolling. Turns off when you apply throttle.
If so then check my thread out: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=90126&p=1349241#p1349241

I've filled up tyre pressure before a journey to work, and it's popped up on the dash that the pressure it different (because I didnt reset it) towards the end of the journey, about 45miles later...
