The sun is out

Post by Jollyjoiner » Sat Mar 25, 2017 4:53 pm

Well the sun is out today so the roof came down.
Had a little drive round and thought I'd have the windows down fully.
Press both window buttons and BANG......passenger window cable snaps :(
So I get home pop the roof back up and just about managed to get the window to shut by gripping the glass from out side and pushing it up into the roof rubbers.
I had to repair the drivers window about 6 months ago so I've done it before.
Just ordered a repair kit so it looks like being a job to do next week.

The joys of owning a Z4 lol :headbang:

That happened to my wife's z4 years ago when she had it , at least it's an easy job to do , took me longer to get the bloody door card off than to replace the cable mech .

Busted knuckle shots welcome.
If your taking pics it may be worth taking one or two of the membrane before its removed as it may help the uneducated when it comes to the all too common leaking membrane problem, just a thought :D

Ok I'll do my best, there will be a good chance the membrane will be like a patchwork quilt when it goes back on hahaha

Suggest a new bead of silicon sealant / mastic on that membrane to prevent it coming loose. Have learned that from umpteen speaker upgrade jobs on different cars...
