I think you either need to try a battery disconnect just to see if the module has lost the plot a little. To be honest its a long short but worth a try before doing anything else. What you really need to do is find somone with decent diagnostic software and read the codes in the roof module. When the sensors go down, there's a broken wire (open/short circuit code) or the latch motor fails etc you get the symptoms your describing usually with no lights in the panel. You might be lucky and its just a temporary glitch so worth trying the battery first

"arrestor hook drive" after manually opening the roof I put the bowden cable and everything back to standard and the roof closed up to the latch point using the hydraulic pump so i feel i can safely rule that out.

But it could also be an indication of an intermittent fault with either the motor or the left hook (as this side has the hall sensor the roof module uses for positional data). It could also indicate a fault within the wiring loom of the roof (damaged/broken wire). Unfortunately the only real way you will know is to see how you get on over the next few/days/weeks/months.G600 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2017 10:27 am

I'm not liking the sound of months thanks for the info, I'll see if i can access and test the hall sensor, last year the top wouldn't unlatch fully but was fine after a light greasing so that points to a weak motor, I'll check that as well.

Might be worth a go, but unfortunately if its a intermittent fault they may check out fine but still be the cause of your issue.
Just a thought, was this the first time the top was down this year? Maybe its not a weak motor but a worn or sticking latch. especially if a light greasing help last year, might be worth another go.

Exactly why I hate intermittent faults!
It's been up and down all winter, I did spend last week driving all around farmland with the roof down and the interior was full of dust when I got home, maybe that got into the mechanism and is causing it to stick, I'll give it a clean and grease. It opened and closed completely normally just now, hopefully that's a sign of things to come!

See if you can borrow an air line and blow the dust out of the nooks and crannies. So it's working again ?, maybe after your off roading adventure, the car went into sulk mode for treating it like a tractor

To clarify, I was on the roads in between fields, not spending a week plowing!

I checked those first, it's been up and down fully the last couple of times I've tried so fingers crossed greasing it worked.
