Does your seat cover come off? My overkill solution.

Post by StarSedz » Wed Apr 19, 2017 6:33 am

Hello everyone,

I'm working on my $5200 USD 81k project Z4, and the back covers on my seat would constantly come off.

Parts to this vehicle are hard to find and expensive in the US, so I made a solution using insulation hangers.

I'd figure this would be great for anyone who has the same problem.

Effective fix.
But did you try new pins at the bottom of the seat cover first? The 2 white plastic friction-fit ones.
This was the reason I couldnt figure out why the seatbacks wouldnt hold position until it was pointed out to me here.
2 new pins later and all good

...which reminds me, I should have updated my thread so it benefits others with the same problem perhaps. How tardy of me!

That's definitely proper.

The black brackets on the top of my seats covers were damaged/broken off, which was why I needed to do that.

Otherwise that would be much easier.
