Yellow traction control light and yellow handbrake light.

Post by Wendy02 » Thu May 04, 2017 6:42 pm

Hello a few days ago I had the yellow traction control light and the yellow handbrake light pop up. The lights are not permanently lit. Lights reset when restarting the car. No stored fault codes. It's going into bmw soon, do I get them to check both the brake pressure sensors then the rear ABS sensors first? I've had the front ABS sensors replaced already and the brake fluid changed.
Thanks
Wendy

BMW diagnostic equipment should pick up the fault. Intermittant fault, I would guess brake pressure sensor. Part is £92 from Ocean BMW (eBay).

Have you recently had a Flat Battery?
Since i did, then disconnected and replaced my battery i have had the same issue intermittently, plus a Yellow bulb warning and Yellow Flat tire warning. Often comes on 5-10min into a journey.

I have tried and found no errors, other people have tried and not found any. I haven't yet taken it to BMW, i will, but if i knew what the issues was id get it sorted possibly by myself if possible.

Id love to hear what your findings are.

Hi
Please look at my response to Orange Fault lights earlier in the evening, it will explain why the two lights are on and how to fix

George7, I have the same issue, but I don't see your fix. Is it just brake fluid. Might is in getting an oil change etc. and I can get them to change the brake fluid if that will solve it.

Guys
I think it's a combination of old fluid and the need to bleed the system. The fault with snap on diagnostics machine was very clear what to do and solved the problem. Maybe the sensors and system are too sensitive to both!
