Floormat Velcro

Post by Scooba_Steve » Mon May 15, 2017 10:32 pm

Mine started coming away so I cut it off and ordered some online. Hook side stuck fine to mats but the loop side for the floor hasn't taken so well.

Anyone replaced theirs with something super strong?

I have this issue also. I can confirm that Evostik doesn't work.

I would be worried about stapling through electric cables! :o

I suppose what annoyed is mew mats font come with both sides and you cant buy the floor side separately.
I'll have a think about the staples!

Aftermarket mats tend to come with a plasterboard type screw to fix either a clip or Velcro to the carpet - wonder if you could adapt something similar?

All the aftermarket ones I've looked at seem to come with velcro too. I'd much prefer clips.

I've got them but the fuzzy side is needed. Still yet to find a glue to hold them on...

Mine started to come away so I got a tin of contact adhesive from B&Q masked off the carpet around where they go applied the adhesive to both parts, let it go off then put them together and hey presto, looks factory like it never came off.

Not used in the Z4 but have used in old car and worked a treat with aftermarket mats.

I just glued my original Velcro back in place with some cheap, Home Essentials Super Strong Glue, from B&M.. Mind you I have used the same glue to repair my leather walking boots. Works on those too. :o :D
