Car sits higher after B4s fitted

Post by JimBob78 » Sat May 27, 2017 10:03 am

This is a bit random but... I fitted bilstien B4 shocks all round about 4 months ago and noticed immediately that the car was sitting higher at the front, i expected them to settle down a bit but still doesn't look right. I know it's the springs that effect ride height so how can this be!? Is it possible the shocks have been fitted incorrectly?

Thanks

Hi, it does have sport suspension but I've not changed the springs so ride height should be the same?!
Thanks

B4s usually are replacement on for stock shocks.. b6s are the ones you'd want with sport suspension. Shocks do change ride height because they have a limit of lowering.. I think b6 was 40mm

I don't think that's quite right. B4s can be used with a drop of up to 40mm and you can in fact get a kit that comes with Eibach springs and the B4s. The B4s are twin tube which I think the original m-sport dampers are as well so they are a direct replacement for these although opinion seems to be that they are a slight improvement on the originals.

The B6s are mono tube and are an upgrade on the m-sport dampers.

Shock absorbers don't effect ride height, this I am certain of!
