Disa Question

Post by acer54 » Mon Jul 24, 2017 2:36 pm

Is it common for the disa to fail and ultimately destroy your engine, my 3.0i has 66,000 recorded miles and I am concerned it could fail with devastating consequences.

Is your car a pre-facelift model? If it is they can fail but it's easy to remove & check for wear, should be plenty on here to search through

My 2003 2.5 has just turned 98k miles and I checked the DISA at about 50k and then again at 96k, all is well and no play present in the unit.

Only takes 15-20 minutes to remove and check and is very easy to do.

They can and do fail, but it's certainly not a common issue!
