Replace broken rear speaker?

Post by DaveAstro » Tue Jul 25, 2017 1:19 pm

Hi I have just got a 2007 Z4 3.0Si Coupe with the business CD.

One of the rear speakers (behind the passenger headrest) distorts. I am not sure if this is the amp or the speaker. How do you get to the speaker to replace it, and what part is it to get a similar one? I might replace both rear speakers if it is not too hard so that they match.

I understand the amp is in the small black plastic compartment to the left of the battery in the boot?

Any help on this will be appreciated, although the stereo does sound reasonable with fade fully to the front and not using the back speakers at all.

the amp on the buisness CD is built into the headunit - so it'll be the speaker - They are a PITA to get at though so i dont envy you changing them!

Cheers Jamie. I haven't been able to find any pictures or advice on how to change these speakers, are the accessed from the front or the back? Maybe I'll just keep the fade to the front!
