The left diagonal strut bar mount cracked at the fender of my 2003 Z4. I have looked at the various forum post on this and it appears to be a relatively common occurrence and needs to be welded back on. I took it into a few auto body places to get bids. One shop told me that they would have to remove the strut to insure that the strut seal is not damaged by the heat of the welding. The other shop did not think it would be an issue. I have KW variant III coil overs so I am a bit concerned that the heat could/would damage them. Any thoughts????
Thanks

Strut Mount cracked - need to repair
I can't see it being a problem myself. The surface area that gets directly heated is very small, the heat would also have to spread through the top mounts and shock bodies first by which time all the heat should be lost
