Seems like a strange question, but is there any water pipes around about the gearbox?
When I came home last night there was some spots on my drive. I assumed it was oil. I placed cardboard under the area and looked at it this morning. It's clean water. Any ideas?

Water drains emptying out would be my guess if it's clean water. There are some that empty in that general area. Hard to say for certain as the gearbox is quite a long item so without knowing precisely where you mean it's difficult to say.
Could also be water running from somewhere else that's trapped by covers under the car etc and eventually drains in that spot. If it's definetly clean water I wouldn't worry though, unless you don't use screenwash or antifreeze!

The water is directly under the gear stick, just at the exhaust. I'm out all day today so I'll have a look tomorrow.

If it's clean clear water the aircon condensation drain comes out where you are describing and is a common cause of panic for new owners so is the most likely reason 8)

Whether the car is parked on a flat surface or an incline would also have a bearing on where/how water drains off as well. But as a few of us have said clean water is not usually an issue. Unless of couse it's a blocked roof drain, but let's not go there! :poke:

I removed the drain plugs. I'm sure it's fine. Going to Arbroath on Sunday to meet with a few forum members, so will check it properly before I go.🤞🏼
