Adding USB Input
Is it possible? Seen an Z4M for sale that has nav, the 10 speaker system, etc but just AUX in. How hard is it to add USB? It's something I use all the time in my current car.

Re: Adding USB Input
It has a CD changer so is possible to add some form of adapter there somehow?

Re: Adding USB Input
BMW used to sell an iPod input kit basically a smart 30 pin cable which replaced the multi changer wire in back off head unit
trouble is very clunky no control over tracks as everything has to be in 5 x playlists ,which mimics the 5 x CD that would be in the multi changer
Consider a small bluetooth receiver and plug into AUX and then link to the music source
Never seen any form of USB after fit unless you invest in a Parrot or similar

Re: Adding USB Input
I looked at this before deciding to go down the Intravee route and buy a second-hand iPod that's dedicated to car and is mounted in the boot above the battery. It's not quite as convenient at being able to plug in USB sticks but it's easy enough to update and retains all the steering wheel controls, track info on the nav screen etc. I don't think there's a 'decent' USB solution that integrates as well as the Intravee
The Intravee does have the benefit of adding additional functionality over and above connecting an iPod so there are some fringe benefits

Re: Adding USB Input
If you don't have DSP then you could fit a Dension. Intravee and cheap iPod is the way to go though with added functionality.
