Anyone changed 10 Speaker (Hi-Fi Option 676) Speakers on a 2006 Coupe
Actually sounds great as is (I couldn't find a car with DSP in the end) but just wondering if I upgraded the physical speakers, what to replace with and would it be much better? Anyone done this? Searched in vain and looked on US forums (where this was the standard stereo) but no luck.

Anyone know? Can I just drop in some higher quality components or are they specialised. Thanks if anyone can offer advice

no idea pal, dropping some high quality speakers in certainly shouldnt hurt, but seriously i also have the 10 speaker carver system and would wonder why anyone would throw more money at it, it sounds pretty good as it is and there's probably much more worthwhile things to throw your money at, i guess if your a true audiophile then maybe not, have you looked through the audio sub forum, im sure there must be 1 or 2 threads in there regarding this
if its got tits or tyres..its trouble

They are standard dimensions but non-standard mountings, so off-the-shelf components will general fit, assuming you use an adaptor or are willing to modify the speaker mounts. You also need to check that the speakers clear trims etc - the door speakers especially because they back onto the window pane when it's in the door! You would probably see some improvement replacing the OEM speakers, but it's not worth investing a huge amount of money unless you also upgrade the amplification. At that point I suspect the source audio will be your weakest link, so it might be better off just sticking with the standard setup!
BSW do replacements which just drop in, but the don't seem to get great reviews on the quality front. NeilP on here is pretty handy on the audio front, so he may chime in.

Thank you guys, will await comments from Neil with baited breath! I was caught up on finding a Coupe with DSP but in fact am very pleased with 10 speaker setup so may well take your advice and leave as is. I've had Bose in Porsches before and it sounds similar or even slightly better as is.
