How to fit bluetooth? I have satnav.

Post by majeric » Thu Jul 21, 2011 5:06 pm

Hello,

I've managed to get hold of a ULF unit and antennae.

Now, i was wondering how i would fit this to my Z4.

I have satnav installed already with a phone button on the stereo.
What do i need to do next? Do i still need the paring button, any harnesses?
How would i get the phone function on my CID?

Any help would be great.....

I'm hoping that there is a mic fitted where the reading lights are.

If not, I'll add mic to my list :-P

You need the loom, mic, bluetooth antenna, ulf and pairing button.

Not sure if you can still buy the loom, SatNav one isn't available anymore. :(

Yep. Read the bimmernav site.

Instructions are pretty simple, but doesn't say how to hook to the satnav.

You need the harness from Bimmernav.com to break into the existing loom.

You'll also need the ULF cradle, new carpet for the rear bulkhead, microphone, top cowl for the column (mike by the centre light is useless) and a pairing buton

Did this conversion a couple of years back and it's easy but takes ages removing trim and fitting the parts.

The bimmernav instructions are for telephone prepped cars, Euro Z4's are NOT phone prepped so there is quite a bit more work.

Pick up the phone and talk to the guy. I did and he sold me just the cable, 'momentary on' button to pair and enhanced mike. Rest like cradle, antennae, carpet from BMW and /or ebay

What did it cost you in total if you don't mind me asking?

I have a complete BT retrofit kit for sale.haven't listed yet but looking for £120 delivered.

ULF is an old generation but would be a good starting point.
