seatbelt reposition

Post by skidkid » Sun Apr 27, 2014 7:11 am

Ive got a 07 Z4si roadster, the seat belts cut across my neck. I bought seat belt pads but it still bugs me. Has anyone tried repositioning the seatbelt guide? Specifically moving it lower on the seat.

Try raising the seat slightly

Seatbelt has always bugged me and I've tried pads and different seat heights without success...
IMO the seat belt positioning in the E85/E86 is a bad design for comfort

So I'll be watching this thread with interest for any solutions

Which seats have you got? Standard or sports.

Try Mac's suggestion. I've never had a problem before but thought they were cutting in after my last trip. I'd just cleaned the car and moved the seats about. Good catch!

The previous owner of my car had taken the seatbelt out of the guide, seems to work pretty well as mine doesn't bother me, but I have the seat as far back as it will go. I think if the seat was forward any I would have a problem of losing the belt behind the seat.

I have sport seats. Ive tried raising seat but it doesn't make that big of a difference. Just saw where someone installed a double sided washer sort of thing in the guide and it only let the belt use the lower half of the guide

My problem is that I am a sitting dwarf even at 5'9 which means the seat belt almost garrotes me. My height is in my legs. Tried up and down seat positions but it makes no difference. Now my Pug..... allows me to adjust the height of the seatbelt..... hmmmm....

Strange. I'm a short arse (my height doesn't change much even when I lie down) but I've not noticed any neck irritation from the seatbelt.

Now that you've made me aware of it no doubt it's gonna bug the shite out of me from now on though! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Spot on 6' here and also have the same issue.
My solution has always to pull the belt away from me and let it recoil.. about every five minutes, whilst swearing under my breath at the blasted thing.

it would be so much nicer if the edges of the belt at about neck height were just lined with someone less abrasive than Jimmy Carr at a funeral.
