Z4 road trip round Scotland

Post by timz » Fri Jun 20, 2014 10:03 pm

The start of our 5 day highlands tour. Stopped at Glen Etive on our way up. The roads so far are superb, Z4 seems to have been made for the A82Image

That's a fabulous photo.

Steph and I travel up for the Scottish hoons - the roads are brilliant and it's well worth the effort to get up there.

Have a great road trip!

Day 2 has been epic. Started at 7:30 this morning and headed out from fort William where we're based. Up passed Loch Ness to john O'groats. Took the obligatory photo with the signpost and then set off along the coast to Durness via Thurso and Tongue. From Durness to scourie and then onto Ullapool and then back to Fort William. Total 456 miles in 13 hrs including stops. We've driven all round Europe and I can honestly say today has been the best single days driving I've ever had. 3 more full days here til we start heading home.Image

200 mile round trip onto Isle of Mull and back to Fort William. From Tobermory ( Balamory) anti clockwise around the coast was unexpectedly good, very very good. Satnav just gave up. I will put this on YouTube when I get home. Very narrow, hazardous sheep, hairpins, crests and falls and some enthusiastically 'spirited' driving. Then to top it off the road from Lochaline ferry back to fort William was like a roller coaster.
Applecross tomorrow :-) Image

Great pictures. I did a week around the Highlands last month and it was probably the best 7 days of my life!

Lots of sunshine (might have got lucky on this one), great roads and very little traffic :driving:
