Williams BMW Manchester

Hey all,
if anybodies seen my thread over at the e85 issues, I mentioned a knocking sound from the dashboard, some said it could be some loose bolts on the struts, as I'm a student and living away from home I don't have any tools!

The noises been getting worse and worse so passing by Williams BMW in Manchester I thought I'd try my luck by asking If I could borrow a spanner for 2 minutes just to tighten up the struts just in case that was the cause (cars booked in for inspection on the 21st and I need it daily :| )

Anyway I park my car opposite the mechanics area and go over and politely ask If I could quickly borrow a spanner to tighten 2 bolts and the guy's reply was "im just a tyre fitter" so I asked who could I speak to about quickly borrowing a spanner and he gave some sarcastic remarks then said I could try the parts department, I said "ok thanks very much" and as I'm walking away I'm 90% sure I heard him mutter "cheeky c**t" to one of the other guys.

the guy on the parts desk was alot more polite and friendly but wasn't helpful in helping me borrow a spanner, I gave up and just went on my merry way with the ever louder knocking noise

Im sure its not common practice to let some random person borrow a spanner but my car was quite literally opposite and I definitely don't expect to be called a cheeky c**t.
yes, I should probably buy a spanner but I just haven't had time to drive out of my way to buy one..hopefully tomorrow I'll get one!

Telephone the service manager and him what happened. Demand an apology then cancel your service and go elsewhere

I get on really well with Williams Manchester, I'd be delighted to mention this on your behalf because that is unacceptable.

Sorry guys maybe I didn't write it clearly enough, I'm not booked in to get an inspection 1 or 2 with williams...I'm booked into at an indi recommended on the forum to diagnose the problem, I was planning on using williams for my next service in 2,000 miles though to keep BMW service history but I'ts doubtful I will now :x , bought parts from in the past though!

Why didn't you ask the guy to repeat what he said ? Just to confirm exactly who the ++++ was

I would have if I had clicked onto what I just heard sooner as it hit me out of the blue and secondly I have an extraordinary temper when it comes to things like this so decided to leave it instead of causing a scene and making it look like i was just a douchebag.

I once took my Rover 45 into Damon Hill BMW when I had a flat.

I only wanted some air but they checked it and realising it was not going to just pump back up they swapped it with the spare foc and they gave me a cup of tea while I waited too.

So they aren't all bad, just most of them.

Shame Damon Hill doesn't still own that dealership.
