Oddly enough, 2 local guys have expressed an interest since I stuck it out front (it usually 'hides' in the garage at the rear when not out in use on the road). One involves shifting metal first, and the other is still puzzled by ALPINA's and is thinking of getting it for his mum-in-law  Well, I did  until he told me she has a V12 Vantage at home   Glad we went to the pub, now

 genius!

I honestly laughed out loud when he told me as she must be well into her 60's, possibly even 70's. '300Horsepower', said I, 'at her age?'....then he broke the news on the Vantage! I knew they were loaded, but still  Priceless moment

Lovely car! Trying to work out where you're based, on the first page I'm sure the picture of the lay by is the coastal road between Aberystwyth and Aberaeron. I've not spotted this car in Aberystwyth so I'm assuming you're in Aberaeron?

Both! Car was in Aberystwyth on workdays, and in Aberaeron when at home. You are correct about the lay-by....and you are where?
Car is now SOLD! :D and held by a deposit, but still with us until full funds are in our hands later this week.

Well done on the sale.

I'm in Aberystwyth and have been looking for a Z4 3.0 for the past few weeks. Finally located one at a main dealer in the Midlands and put a deposit down. If I had spotted yours earlier, it would have been in contention but probably a bit too much for the girlfriend and worried it would have overshadowed my M3 : )

LOL, the new owners of #168 have a 3.0Si, too. And a Z3 2.8.

#168 has been a lady's car until now (and mine on occasion): they suit either sex, well as they have a split personality  If you want to see an ALPINA Roadster S before it goes, you'd best get down here! If we are in Aber, you may see us in the remaining ALPINA....a black E92 B3SBiturbo. Keep 'em peeled :D Tell me what you've got and I'll keep an eye open for you  though we'll be in Aber less as the wife has a new job outta town (she leaves her job at the University this week).

Errrr...Mods!... Mods!... MODS!...

Ade is now posting under false pretenses... can you change his username to '1alpade' asap... thank you... that is all

Congrats on the sale 2alpsade. That sunny weather seems to have worked a treat

Yes Stu, very mixed. But, 4 cars was a bit of a chore to 1. park and 2. keep on top of maintenance. On many occasions we thought of keeping the RS, and eventually the discussion returned to the same conclusion: we just wouldn't use her enough to justify the yearly fixed costs. So, she will leave us on Saturday lunchtime, and move to her new residence in Worcestershire.

MOT'd her for the new owner today (part of the deal) and she flew through with no advisories. Had my final little run in her and she's garaged now and ready to be handed over following a bit of a preparatory wipe-down. We'll miss her: she's been a reliable bundle of fun, but life goes on, and hurdles come along we just have to deal with. Of most importance is Liz's new job and income security for now, and we still have a nice group of cars so nothing to complain too much about

Seems the weekend sun moved a few RS's...we weren't the only one to find a new keeper if adverts are to believed.

I did have a frozen grey E92 M3 and a 130i LE which have been chopped for an E60 550i and a E46 M3 (my favourite M car and managed to find a 1 owner garaged with low miles so couldn't resist, E92 never hit the spot). Hope to add an E30 M3 later this year. Will definitely keep them peeled, Alpinas are a rare sight in these areas as you full well know.

Small world, the Mrs has just applied for a post at the Uni!

Your E46 is what colour?.....helps to know who's giving me the wave! The 550i should be pretty noticeable, too
We have been tempted by an E46 M3 on numerous occasions, the last one being an Imola Red beauty, but it never happened at the right time and the running costs would have crucified us! Then everyone loves an E30 M3: we were multiple E30 owners (a 320iSE saloon and a 325i Sport coupe) some years ago, and that always leaves the love of an E30, especially an M3, in the blood.

ALPINA's are very rare in Ceredigion, and as far as I can make out ours are the only 2 residing in the county. We had a few extra at the weekend (a number on Aber seafront, and the white sister car to mine came to Aberaeron for a visit :D ) and we have a small ALPINA meet 15th/16th of next month staying in town for the weekend, with a drive along some of the local 'quality roads' and some, er, food and drink. You will definitely have to keep 'em peeled!

Now, I know your Mrs won't have gone for mine's old job as it's currently being debated what to do with new departmental structures (you must know what's happening there with 'changes')...but out of interest, which area has she applied to join as it may have been in my wife's (soon to be) old department as she has been interviewing. Although, to be fair, she seems to be on an interview panel most weeks as the token non-academic female manager!

She was interviewed and got the job for a long term lectureship role in the law and criminology department. I am far too familiar with the mess the big wigs seem to be creating at the university hence I'm unsure whether we should celebrate or not for her relatively long term contract with flawed employers!

If I'm not mistaken I saw your B3S parked opposite the Commodore cinema about 6.30 this afternoon, lovely looking understated beast you have.

I will ask if my wife knows who she may be as she had regular dealings with the department....and let's be honest, it can only get better there, as its at a pretty low point motivationally. The university will always exist: some people will eventually move on

You were not mistaken. You were quick on the 'spot', too, as I only parked there at 6:20! :D It was 'leaving do' evening, so I was on chauffeur duty :driving: Nice meal in Baravin :) and a few drinks around town.

Parking there was amusing. I'd parked and was just attending a couple of phone messages in the car when 3 guys ambled past, stopped and started looking at and talking about the car. Then there was a 'sh1t, there's someone in it' (in an embarrassed, not a 'we were gonna nick it' sort of way). They ambled on towards town and I got out and started to follow them. A few yards later they stopped and turned to me and started a discussion. More newly educated ALPINA folk  Thankfully, the car was still there at 11pm!
