AVOID THIS CAR (autotrader)

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd post this as a car I went to view a couple of months ago has resurfaced on auto trader.
It's an 09 reg blue soft top Z4 with 22,000 miles on the clock. Described as a "much looked after car"

In fact, this is quite the opposite. There are scratches and dents on ALL the panels. The bonnet is hanging off on the passenger side. Wheel arches on passenger front and driver rear are bent outwards. Aerial has snapped off. Lettering has ripped off.
Leather is caked in black dirt on drivers side.

The seller let me drive 2 and a half hours ensuring me there was no scratches or damage to the car. She then refused to comment on the state of the car when I met up with her.

To say this car has only done 22,000 miles. My god, please don't even bother looking at this car. Waste of time!

My seats & steering wheel have got 150k on them and are in the same condition.

The ripples in the bolster/door leather looks like there's been a fair bit of damp in there

Hi jlp123 and all,

I have to agree 100% with what you have said, I spoke to the Lady owner when the car was first advertised on the website and she confirmed that the car was kept on the Streets of London and had some Minor damage. Hence my personal interest in the car had totally gone, plus it had virtually zero service history due to the Low Miles that it had covered.

Just goes to show, that you can Never judge a book by it's cover, no matter how much you want too!

And damage was by no means minor.
Every part of the car she could have scratched/dented, she did.
Had to laugh by the end. Couldn't believe how someone could treat such a nice car that way.

My dad reckoned £5k+ to get into shape.

Yup I had a similar experience when we were looking for my gfs new car, a daihatsu copen. The car had 26k miles was priced at the top end and in pictures it looked mint(taken from a distance) when I got there the lady owner was oblivious to all the damage that was on the car... We're talking dents on each panel, rust on the bonet, battery covered in some white crap (she didn't even know how to open the bonnet) basically completely trashed.. her description stated "very well looked after" "one lady owner" "careful owner" "great condition" etc.. all the buzz words. I told her that I'm walking away as if I was to make an offer she'd laugh me out. The car was advertised for 4.7k which is very much top end for a copen. One month later and it still hasn't sold, she dropped the price to 3.6k and it's still not selling. Maybe if people were honest with their ads it'd sell but right now it was an absolute waste of time. Glad she only lived 6miles away.

I've seen that zed for sale, she added pics of some of the damage and it's hard to believe that it has suffered that much in 22k miles.
