I hope so Rob providing it was another E89 and done under the 12yr corrosion warranty and not the 3yr paint warranty.

But really, this is quite appalling mate, looks like you need to go legal after all. Hope this gets sorted to your satisfaction.
Even I had better service when my fabric roof in my E88 got a hole which started from the inside due to a badly designed frame. Bill was over £3k to fix, was out of warranty and BMW goodwill meant I only paid £170 which was for the coding a testing once it was installed. In my case though BMW had recalled in the US on the issue but never elsewhere as supposedly the fact roofs aren't put down as much ment it possibly wouldn't happen or happen as quickly.

Although the installation was never as good as the original roof and that lead to the need to change the car.

The car is not on finance by any chance is it? If it is and memory serves you do have some sort of recourse through the for the "goods not remaining of a satisfactory quality". I had a similar experience with a Mini BMW refused to repair properly due to corrosion and in the end I rejected the car and returned it to the finance company (BMW Finance) at the time the car was about 4 years old or so.

Just thought I would mention it in case its helpful.

Thanks for this but there's no finance involved. I had a plan to move forward until Z4M-2006 said he'd had warranty paint done on his so this might save me court dealings with any luck

No..

I didn't get new panels, but to be fair the extent of the bubbles was much less than yours... But they shouldn't be there at all was my thinking and BMW repainted without any problem...

PM me if you require any details

I'm sure it'll all be fine and I know you'll go over the car scrutinising every inch upon its return.

Well done for persevering!

Who are Specialist Cars? I've tried searching but there are many.

Are they a body shop or something else? How did they have influence on the decision?

It'll probably help people going forward. :)
