Carly app for BMW
Hi guys,
I came across an app "Carly for Bmw" which seemed to have some pretty useful coding features like your mirrors automatically folding back when you lock the car, loads of comfort mods, etc.
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience of it?
Many thanks

There's actually a thread running with who has the Carly software around the country and don't mind helping people. I use it and find it has worked every time. Works well on older BMW's and even Mini's.
One thing to add though. I tried it with a normal adapter and found I only had limited functions, much better to buy the app and the correct adapter.

Thanks that's great. I did do a quick search for Carly app on here but it came up with nothing. I've only seen it for sale in dollars so far if you go through the app, so not sure if there's a better place to buy it.
Thanks very much for the info and recommendation though!

Ive used Carly succesfully on my E89 and F11 - a few words of caution though. I initially coded the F11 using my IPad and then a few days later wanted to add another function and used my IPhone - the coding failed and left me with a messed up car. I tried to use the back up that had been stored by Carly but this also failed so I was sweating a bit at this stage and thought it could be a compatibility issue between the IoS on the IPad and the IPhone so reverted to the Ipad and the backup worked with no issues - and the car was back from being half brain dead.
From now on I'll stick to using my IPad just to be on the safe side.

Cheers Keith,
Sounds like rather a nightmare. On android over here so hopefully less complications.
Hope you got it sorted in the end!?

Yep, all sorted and whilst the additional features aren't critical (MPH in the digital display, mirrors folding when locked etc) they are nice to have and I'm sure with time I'll think of more things to fiddle with!Topcat7seven wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 8:51 pm Cheers Keith,

Hopefully find someone near men willing to go through it and try it out. Think the folding mirrors would be really useful.

I'll also add, I have the Carly app with their Gen 2 adapter, using Android. Has worked faultlessly, and a brilliant addition if you own a compatible Beemer. Not cheap if you have all the bells & whistles, but you only buy it once ....

Hi,
I live in Chepstow.
Thanks for the advice and glad to hear it's working well on Android.
Where did you purchase your gen 2 adapter from?
What have been your favourite mods regarding the carly app?

My door mirrors don’t open from the remote and nor do they have the little button to the side on the controls inside to fold them from inside the car and wondered could they still be codes to fold from the button on the remote. The guys that have done this with the Carly app were they in the same position or did they already have the facility to close them from the inside of the car first if you k kw what I mean
