Knocking noise driver front

Post by The White Wolf » Wed Feb 08, 2017 11:27 pm

Hey all,

Just had hpdrivetech air suspension installed drove it home 350 miles no issues, next day I'm now getting a heavy knocking noise when I go over uneven ground, it's fine on the flat roads and cornering, it's just when I go over bumps. Was thinking top mount issue maybe??? I'm no mechanic so no idea. Anything just need to check that may be obvious.

I have a video but can't see how to upload it here.

I'd be talking to the supplier.

Spoke to the installer and he can't think what it could be as he triple checked everything before it left the shop and all was fine.

Emailed hpdrivetech but they told me to speak to the installer, so going round in circles.

Is there an easy way to check thd top mount, again I'm no mechanic so unsure if it's simple to check without dismantling everything.

Might have been fine in the shop, but you've done 350 miles since then.

We'd all be shooting in the dark considering the work you've just had done.

Now convinced it's the sway bar or control arm bushes. Is this an easy job to do on your own?

Control arm bushes are fairly easy, however , this time of year unless you have received garage ik be paying around 110 including parts to a local garage to get th replaced.
