Drivers window wont close.

Post by Citygent74 » Sun Mar 26, 2017 9:42 am

Hi all,
Just bought a 2.3i 2010 z4 and dropped the roof but the drivers side window wouldnt go back up. The passenger window works fine. The garage had just replaced both back lights, dont know if this is linked but feeling abit pist off as the car is still at the garage as i only got 100 yards down the road. Not a good start with my 1st BMW. Are electrical faults common on the z4?
Thanks in advance.

Edit sorry ... didn't see it was an e89. I'm not sure !

It's most likely Part of the mechanism itself has failed / snapped (regulator / connectors) . Common for them to fail at some point , and not just Related to BMWs either. More of an age thing. Both have been replaced on mine.

Stick with it , At least it's getting fixed by them

Are both drivers side windows not working or just the main one?
Have you tried the switch that raises all the windows together?

I had a loose connector on the bottom of the door switch cause this.
Removed door card, removed the switch connector, clean with contact spray, refit, problem solved.
This was after I also got the left window stuck down as well as the right.
