Roof woes sorted by a diet coke

Post by Pastry » Sat Apr 15, 2017 9:26 pm

As some of you may have seen my E89 is up for sale. Today a forum member came to see it and all was going well until I tried to shut the roof and I got an error message 'Roof fault' and it wouldn't close..... perfect timing to develop a fault!! :headbang: I remember seeing a recent post by Dietcokeman about a similar issue so I gave him a call for advice and got invited round his house.
An afternoon followed changing hall sensors (which turned out to be ok) that he had spare and finally a microswitch which proved to be the thing at fault.

Not only did he spend his Saturday afternoon helping me out, he also did it for free, only accepting the cost of the microswitch from me!!! A massive thank you to Dietcokeman who was just happy to help out a forum member........ It restores your faith in human nature.

PS.... The forum member is now buying my car :D

Nice to read that. People help people out all the time. A simple thank you is often all the payment they ask.
