Hi all,
Maybe some of you coders can help. I've recently had CC installed in my car. All works well until I travel over 60mph for a short period of time and then I get FTM system error and the CC turns off. This leads to both the DSC and FTM system lights on. CC won't come back on after this unless the car is turned off and on again.
If I turn off the car and back on again, all is good until the next time I'm travelling over 60mph. It doesn't seem to happen at slow speeds which I would normally do to work on the back roads but as I've just been on the motorway, hey presto.
I had a speed sensor error which I believe was reset during the CC coding.
Any ideas please before I take it to the stealers?!

Could it be something to do with the cruise control being set to give an alarm when a certain speed is reached and because its not factory fitted it is throwing up errors instead?

I did a bit more research on these errors and a faulty wheel speed sensor is a common cause of this error, especially as the cruise control relies on this data.
Really need to find out the error codes, can your Carly get these?

Checked this but it's at different speeds and you wouldn't get all the fault lights. Nice idea though.

Hi, if the speed sensor isn't a crazy price I'd change that before taking it to a dealer

These are the errors from Carly. I believe it's more likely the bottom one as I've read somewhere that the steering angle sensor needs resetting and calibrating. I can reset the error code with Carly but not sure how to calibrate the steering sensor.

Sounds like a plan if this keep happening. Just seems strange it started happening straight after CC install. Maybe coincidence, maybe not. Just don't like driving without DSC or FTM system.
I'll try and source a speed sensor. Hopefully not £££££££££

it could be the steering angle sensor, as a fault with this will also cause the errors you're seeing.
Just found this, it's fairly similar to the E89 and looks like the problems you're having may be to do with the stalk unit you purchased.

I guess it could be. Any idea how to test this or maybe try and reset/calibrate it first?Tumnus wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2017 7:29 pm it could be the steering angle sensor, as a fault with this will also cause the errors you're seeing.
