Roof issues

Post by Dietcokeman » Thu Aug 03, 2017 7:36 am

Ok gents , I did a post some time ago for folding roof issues which was effectively wiped of its picture content due to PhotoBucket playing silly buggers . That thread is now locked, but here is a link to a PDF file that contains all the info as I originally posted it , with the pictures included

http://www.eastpazscca.org/downloads/forum-5.pdf

Please note .....,as of 2/2018 the hall sensors have increased in price from 14.00 plus vat to 127.00 plus vat ! :thumbsdown:

Here is a link to the original thread, without the pictures , that also includes the above link .

Again I'm happy to help anyone if I can 07771847714

Hope this helps
Bryan

Just a heads up, been helping with another roof issue today and the price of the 14 quid hall sensors has now risen to 127 quid . I didn't actually believe it, but having rung Sytner in High Wycombe who have sold me a few of these over the last year for other people's cars and also checking with Sopers, it appears BMW have indeed increased the price . Sytner s checked direct with BMW Uk for me too ! Be warned chaps . Unfortunately I have no more either. :thumbsdown:

Demand, they know how many they are having to replace. Another call back that never happened.

Do they have a manufacturer name and part number on them? If BMW do not make them just go to the manufacturer.. Worth a shot they are probably in China and will sell you a bucket full for a tenner (ish)...... :thumbsup:

I wonder if all the roof parts are Italian made. I think someone else mentioned it was designed in Italy.
This mechanism looks familiar;
