Upgrade Angel Eyes

Post by Andy Waine » Sun Jun 28, 2015 12:09 pm

Hi, has anyone upgraded their Angel Eyes to the current white light versions on the current E89 models?
Mine being a 2009 model has the yellow version. Found this website http://www.bimmian.co.uk/WeissLicht-LED ... BMW-E89-Z4 which seems to offer a solution.
Has anyone any experience of doing this or this product/company?
Any advice welcome.
Andy.

I recently upgraded our X3 angel eyes from stock yellow halogen to white LED. My research into this area indicated that MTEC almost certainly offer the best products in this area. The H8 could be the correct Fitment for an E89...

They are also the most expensive but I didn't want to risk any cheap Chinese items overheating and melting under the bonnet (apparently some have experienced this).

Hi thanks GreyZed for offering a response. However, their compatibility check suggests it does not fit my Z4 35i.
Thanks anyway.
Andy.

The description says they fit E89. I'm sure there will be an E89 pilot along soon who has whitened their angel eyes to confirm compatibility for you.

For anyone who is thinking of doing this upgrade, I decided to order the bulbs from Bimmian on Monday morning. They arrived Wednesday afternoon via UPS, excellent service. Fitted the bulbs tonight, no problem really but what a difference they make. Gone are the insipid yellows and replaced with bright daylight Angel Eyes. Let's see if they do what it says on the tin. so far.

I bought these.....

Absolute bargain for the price I would say. Really bright and no canbus errors or anything.
Stunning deal I would say.

I've bought my set of WeissLicht from a forum member and I'm very happy how they look. It does make the car look more up to date since quite a few cars out there these days has some form of white DRL light installed either from factory or aftermarket.

No sorry and am away from home in a different car just now.
Have also done a deal on an LCI model so will be selling my bulbs shortly.

The before and after with the ones from the eBay link above. Inner ring nice and bright, outside less but acceptable for the price:
