Correct way to remove these..?

Post by RickZ4 » Fri Feb 05, 2016 3:37 pm

Simple when you know how, but I don't want to damage these plastic fasteners which secure the lining of the hard top.

Do the centre pins have a spiral thread? If so, do they come out all the way?

Thanks

Hi
Yes they do have a screw thread to them, if you get a Philips head screwdriver and unscrew, the centre will come out then the outer will just pull out of the liner.
If the centre just spins as you turn it then slide something flat under the head of the screw and apply a bit of lateral pressure as you turn it and that should help draw it out.

For those fasteners that don't remove with a screwdriver get one of these at any auto parts store...
