Instrument cluster removal

Post by Damon275 » Mon Dec 19, 2016 8:00 pm

Hi,

Has anyone remove the instrument cluster. I can only find videos for the E85 which looks quiet simple.

Any information would be useful.

Thanks

Damon

yeah e85 is just couple of screws cant imagine bmw changed it much though. It might be worth searching other bmw's of 2009+ age that might have used a revised way to remove it

In the manual it says:
Pull steering column maximum out.
Release screw (1).
Fold back instrument cluster (2) in direction of arrow and pull out towards rear.
Unlock associated plug connection and disconnect.
Remove instrument cluster (2).

Screw (1) being the two screws just above the speedo and rev counter. Arrow is the top forward.

Sorry can't post page, my photobucket down.
