Will they fit?
BRAND NEW 19" M5 M6 ALLOYS ALLOY WHEELS FULL SET BOXED SEALED
2 x 8.5J x 19"
2 x 9.5J x 19"
OFFSET 35
CENTE BORE 72.6
PCD 120
I know about the offside rule, the offest...not the foggiest.
So i have an E86, will these new 19inchers fit with no bother?
Is there a minimum and maximum offset figure for E86s'?

Rears will work , fronts will be a squeeze ( tyre dependent ) if your E86 is on standard suspension ?
If lowered id forget them et 40 8.5j fronts are about the max fitment on a lowered E86 unless you want to paint the tyres on .
Even on standard springs id be avoiding as the front tyres will need to be stretched to avoid arch rub when suspension on turn
/ compression .

I had 8.5x19 et 35 on the front of my z4, which is lowered on eibachs. No problems here. I used a 225/35/19 tyre.

Last time i checked, underneath the body, the cars are the same so i'm unsure what your point is?

Well they aren't the same are they ? Different brakes , different power , different shock rates , similar maybe but not the same .ben g wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2017 3:43 pmLast time i checked, underneath the body, the cars are the same so i'm unsure what your point is?
My point is what works on some Zs doesn't necessarily for others & from past experience know for a fact that 19inch 8.5j et 35 rub on Si cars even with 225 35 rubber ask LankylancsLad
I also think from my own experience that E86s appear to be the least tolerant of them all , its not scientific or documented , its just gained from trying different set ups & from others trying different set ups ( Z4 Pilot & Idej jedi 2 i can think of that have had issues with their ZCs on similar widths + offsets )
If you read my first reply i haven't stated "NO" they won't fit , just that i wouldn't go 8.5j et 35 19s on a e86 Si of my own as i know for a fact that any spirited driving of any kind will result in a rub , it may not rip out the arch liner but it will catch .
You may be lucky with the use of your Se roadster , a commute down by-pass , mway or a drive into town most likely is fine but i reckon 20 mins out in the Ribble valley i could have your set up rubbing

front should be fine tbh! my z4 coupe runs 18/8.5 et30 on the front and 225 rubber without lowering and it rubs a TEENY bit in very extreme cases.
I'd say et 35 would solve that on stock sport suspension, lowered you might need a 215 rubber up front..

I also said it would depend very much on rubber size , i accept they will fit & for most owners generally pottering about the majority of time is ok but its just my preference to know that when i do want to enjoy a drive out in the bends ,bumps & twisties i don't have to listen to the sound of rubber on plastic
You are also running 18s not 19s , probably just mm's in it but reality is its a matter of mm's that either catch or they don't .
This can even be down to no problems on worn tyres , add new rubber & suddenly minor catching at times

I drove my Z4 on the 19'' wheels to Scotland and back. I'd hazard an educated guess that Highland roads (especially the route we drove to the caravan in drimsynie) are just as bad, if not worse, than Northern routes
Brakes and power have nothing to do with it, so it's pointless adding them in to your argument.

i didn't add them to the argument , you said look underneath & they're the same they aren't , simple as that & a Se roadster isn't a Si coupe so take that on board at the same timeben g wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2017 7:04 pmJust nomr wilks wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2017 5:45 pmWell they aren't the same are they ? Fair enough, but as this is the wheels and tyres sub forum, so i thought it would be obvious i wasn't talking about brakes or power

My initial reply was directly wheels + tyres related & in case you missed it or misread it i didn't say they wouldn't fit the op didn't say whether he had a Se Si or Sport Si ( suspension different) nor did he say whether it was lowered which is why attempted to cover all bases using my own experiences .
I appreciate you have the same set up on Se roady lowered but id wager the very same set on a Si Sport coupe lowered would rub with little effort

Why would anyone disagree with Mr. Wilks on anything rim + tyre ?
Plus, you have to read "all" of a post before you jump to conclusions.
I can't think of anyone more experienced to ask advice from.
Thanks again Mr. Wilks
Cheers

Thanks Bumpy but there are others on the forum with equal & probably more knowledge , i simply offered my own opinion which i guess is what everyone else does . There is a lot of trial & error with so many varying factors (eg tyre width itself + tyre tread can have a significant affect ) so i don't think there is a defining "will these fit " answer especially if the numbers are heading towards known limits .Bumpy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2017 7:33 pm Why would anyone disagree with Mr. Wilks on anything rim + tyre ?

The very same set up clearly does work on Ben's car ( even in Scotland ) & i am not saying this is untrue , i just wouldn't risk it on my own E86 which is what i attempted to say from the off
