Advice on buying tyres

Post by JayT » Tue Oct 18, 2011 2:29 pm

Hi all
Looking to buy a set of Vredestein Wintrac Xtreme tyres. Had a look on the online but can only find the 'XL' variety and speed rating H at a good price (225/45R17 XL 94H).

Does it matter that they are designed for extra load and the speed rating is up to 130mph?

Thanks

I assume you are not planning on going above 130mph in the snow :P

Perfectly OK to fit lower-rated tyres than the vehicle's top speed when it comes to winters. I confirmed this with my insurance company but might be prudent to do the same with yours.

And yeah, 130mph in the snow
