Bolts for BBS split alloys

Hi guys, I am new to this forum and have a 2.5 si with poor split alloys. Am getting them redone but need new bolts. BMW say you cannot buy them! Does anyone know where to get them from, thanks.
 
New bolts are VERY expensive, about 5£ per bolt. and you need 80. (hardly seems worth it).

You can have them blasted and replated I think?
 
I got a set of new bolts for a set of BBS LM's from a company called just matz. Def wasnt 5 pound a bolt

Justmatz, sell after market style, bolts.
Whilst these will fit, I would be weary of using them to replace a whole set of BBS bolts in a 108 split rim.. The odd one or two, maybe..
As, I doubt that they are to potentially, to the OE + BBS, specification, as if they were, they'd be a lot more - cost wise..

Defo' an option if you need, just a few perhaps..
 
I was just reading through the spec sheets elsewhere on here for another reason, and happened on the wheels options - the reason that genuine 108 rim bolts are so expensive is because they are titanium :wink:

I guess they are titanium for a reason too...
 
They are indeed mate. I do have a few spares, but they're not mint. They're no snapped (so better than if that happens) but they don't look like new!
 
Why would stainless steel ones not work?? If anyone can answer that? And if they do i can get a price for some? I might also be able to get TI ones and i bet they will be less than £5 each that's a bloody joke. I will make a set if someone is willing to pay £5 each!!

If someone can let me know the information i will see what i can do.

I have a set of 108's heading my way that will be getting split & powder coated . Hopefully all bolts will be ok but its good to know a "man who can " should the odd one be goosed :thumbsup:

Are they not titanium for strength ? As for £5 per bolt... Never looked for a price, but I am sure that price will include a healthy mark-up on cost.
 
A stainless steel bolt would be plenty strong enough. I guess its the added weight. I will look into this tomorrow. But i am off on me holidays Wednesday so i will need reminding probably next week.

Can some one let me know what thread they are and size tpi or more likely pitch ie 1.5mm 1.75mm. I doubt they will be torx might just be a plan old Allen key but i will ask our supplier.

I could make up the odd 1 -2 i don't fancy doing a whole wheels worth let alone 4 of them!!!
 
Don't know the spec, but they are not Allen bolts - like torx bolts but with loads more teeth. Someone more technical than me will know :D

Ah, cheap holidays outside the school holidays - the joys of not having kids :D

I will look up the info tomorrow if I get chance. The head type I can't see making any difference. You can torque up an Allan key type hard loads!!

Yeah nice chaeap last minute booking. Getting away for our first year anniversary. I am sure little monkes won't be long in coming!!

The 108 bolts are M7x25 with a 12 point spline head, M7 in itself is a pretty rare size. Not sure why they are Titanium as they seem to corrode against the alloy anyway. I would think Stainless would be OK but you'd probably not get the same head design.

I broke 5 or 6 when I split my 108's and some I suspect were very stressed after removal.

M7 is a bit odd not in heard of is that m7x 1.25 as a .25 pitch is very fine usually used for microscopes and things like that.

I will no doubt be able to get stainless but they will be around 3 times as heavy!
