Considering the amount of factory BMW wheel,s that fracture  from a personal point of view i have nothing against reps .
Should also add i would not push a car to it,s outer limit,s with them fitted but have had quite a few sets on various vehicles & never any issues

Lets hope so ... just put an order in for these puppies: £999 with 225/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rear Nankang NS2's.

Hmm.. Replica rims: from experience or should I say, from witnessing other peoples misfortunes, with Replica Alloy Wheels, - I would not touch them, with a barge pole..
More so,the bigger the rim you go - 18"s and larger, seem to bear the problems more so, than smaller diameter rims.. Due, in part, to running skinnier profile tyres.. Added, to the fact, that Rep's are simply not the standard or quality, of OE rims..
Yes, I appreciate, that in the past, that BMW have had more, than the odd gremlin, with certain OE wheels and cracking etc - more so, when running skinny profiled RFTs. The said issues, now seem far less common, however

The bottom line is simple, for me: You get, what you pay for, in life.
If you want general reliability and decent quality, go for OE, all day and night.. Whether, it's wheels; brakes; any other important parts for your car or anything else, of great importance to you!
If, you want an inferior, poorer quality item - with Alloys in mind, go for the Rep's..

Talking, of poorer quality items: Tyres, budget variants for example.. No thanks.. Whilst EU compliant and legal, - I wouldn't have them, on any vehicle of my own! Heard, too many horror stories of them, in a multitude of road and weather conditions.. Best of luck, to those, who think they are ok though..

I had CSL reps on the car when I bought it and they look good from a distance but up close they aren't the same quality as real rims.

I got Le Mans alloys, specific fitment for a Z4M (offset etc) and they are much, much better.

Personally I would only ever put alloys actually meant for the car that means no spacers and no crap from china.

Either stick with 18's or get custom rims, I believe my alloys were £800 to the offset I wanted. Perfectly sat in the arches and look OEM.

Don't drive in the rain.... Unless I get caught out! Tyres not 100% confirmed yet, waiting for a call back Monday so I have time to change them! Going to look at some reviews today online :)

As they are from BMAutosport I doubt you will have any quality issues. Never heard anything bad about them.

Once had a set on my Passat & they were quite honestly lethal on wet bends , sold them after 2k ,
If you want some budgets that are ok then try Kaiser Kenda or Westlake 8) I bought a set of 18 inch alloys for my Astravan last Nov which came with these tyres on around 6mm all even & they have really surprised me ,
I was going to swap them as I,m over the moors through Haworth into Bradford every day doing 400 miles a week in torrential conditions . Not had one hairy moment as yet
Or Achilles ATR Sports are a decent cheap tyre ?
If funds will stretch though go for Vred or at very least Falken,s

Totally agree with you on this subject. In particular the wheel and tyre combos that eBay type traders put together can contain lethal wheels that shatter on impact, rather than deform. Poor castings, etc.
I would not risk my life on such things for a cheap a route to cosmetic improvement.

The exception is of course high end well known branded rims from specialists or even the same manufacturers as OEM. I'm thinking of expensive kit though an de sort of thing you see on high end cars, track cars, etc. Those are mostly good.

Budget tyres are just as bad. - just when you need them to perform instead you find a ditch....

It's nice to have a positive reply for once :)

Only hear good comments about bmautosport too and they do carry a warranty.... Any issues they go back!

I've had aftermarket wheels on many of my past cars and I've had a few! Never have I heard of any issues that have been mentioned! I've always gone for cheap tyres too and had no issues in the last 21 years of driving various cars!

I don't know personally anyone who has had issues with aftermarket wheels!

All I can say is I have 107's with Bridgestone run flats and the run flats are awful!!

I've seen more cracked OEM wheels than aftermarket! BBC watchdog strings to mind a few years ago! :)
