Why are MV2's called MV2's? It's not the official BMW name for them, so where did it come from ?

I am probably completely wrong but maybe M style version 2 wheels? Mv2?
I guess there were mv1 wheels before?

Why are MV2's ?
Think they got the name due to style of spokes being m and v shaped. As said these are second generation.
