Help needed...

Post by MBZ4 » Tue Jun 13, 2017 1:41 pm

Hi guys, looking for a little advice / information as to whether a set of wheels I'm interested in will fit my Z4.

The info I have is as follows:

Alloys - 19" CSL Reps (staggered)

Offset - front ET35 / rear ET33

Width - front 8.5J / rear 9.5J

My Z is a facelift ('07) 3.0 Si roadster which has original suspension set-up.

I have very little knowledge what all the alloy specs mean, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Mike

i have those exact wheels on my car. I had them on my old Z4 coupe also (2008) model.

The best tyre combo was 225/35/19 on the front & 265/30/19 on rear. If your on OEM rideheight you should have no rubbing issues

Hi Jamie, thanks very much for your quick response!

How did the wheels sit on your Z? I don't suppose you have any pics?

Many thanks,

Mike

Mike - I had Jamie's wheels on my coupe for a while. This is what they looked like (running on Eibach lowered springs). I agree with Jamie - if you are OEM ride height you'll have no problems with rubbing - however if lowered, you will more than likely get some minor rubbing even with 225's on the front. If I went that route again, I'd probably look for 8J wide fronts (I think idej-jedi has 8j's?) or increase the offset to 38/40 if available. The 33 offset looks fantastic at the rear - lots of dish. If you are standard height, you may need to look at your rear camber to make sure they tuck under the arches - if lowered, it increases your camber anyway.

Thanks Jamie / Z4pilot, appreciate the advice.

I am 100% sure on going for 19" CSL reps, so I just need to make sure the specs will be suitable for my Z4. My main concerns are rubbing issues and the visual appearance not being good (with regards to width, camber etc.).

I also think it is quite likely I will fit new springs at some point (probably eibach or H&R) to lower the car slightly. However this will probably not be done for a while.

So what would the all you experts in the wheels department advise with regards to the ideal CSL rep specs (offset, width, tyres etc)?

Many thanks,

Mike

No problem

A 225 35 19 front and 265 30 19 with et37 front and et33 rear is fine with h&r springs
