Wheel colour advice needed!

Post by bmwaddict » Thu Aug 31, 2017 6:42 pm

So after failing to sell my rare 19x9 Breyton Inspirations on fleabay or various forums despite some interest, ive decided to keep them and fit to my coupe, and make a staggered set after finding 2 10j rears in the USA.
The question is, do I get the fronts refurbished in original bright silver with polished dishes to match the rears (which is what I am thinking), or get the rears sprayed a sort of dark anthracite/light metallic carbon black, which the fronts are currently. Another option is to get the spokes colour matched to my car and the lips silver polished for a 2-tone look.
They will be fitted on a Ruby Black car. Your opinions much appreciated.

It's a shame I'm having to refurb the black ones, they're mint, but light always seems to look better on a dark car.

This or polished dish and shadow chrome type spokes.

Agree that with a darker coloured car you need to have lighter wheels. In fact most cars need light wheels otherwise you end up "loosing" all the details.

I do like all black wheels on a black car though, and that was what I planned to do at first, maybe some Avantgarde M359s, or black CSLs, and I still like those ideas, but I'll admit silver wheels look best on a dark car.

I'm so torn right now whether to do the Breyton wheels' spokes original silver or gunmetal, or Ruby Black to match the car. Dishes will be diamond cut silver as per oem like the 10j rears.
