Tomorrow or can I do that now?

Only have a couple of hours between collecting the car and having to travel abroad again so it is a bit tight if I have to do it tomorrow ...

Think it's all taken care of automatically by the V5 transfer process these days.

Tomorrow it is then. Just tried to put the sale date as tomorrow, and typically DVLA, they can only handle dates in the past ...

Sold my car earlier this month, got the confirmation that "you are no longer responsible" for it form yesterday, so will cancel the DD now. Amazingly, they send out an new V5c after a change of reg/keeper within a couple of days, BUT the letter saying you are no longer responsible takes over 2 weeks... I wonder if that's to soften the blow that both you and the new owner have paid for it's RFL during the sale month...

Could indeed be - a trend away from the Mini's that keep being bought on the forum

Mrs PVR wanted to swap the car as the current one was only available in flimper spec, and she really, really started to hate the fact that it was missing the build-in satnav. The current one also has the SMG type gearbox, which I may have let slip once or twice, I basically hate

The Comp. has the Koni shock system (quality Dutch ....), so the ride is 1000% better than the current one, and the general build quality has really been stepped up as well. Even the gear knob is a solid aluminum one which is a joy to use, and it is a lovely manual of course.

You'll pay the tax for the whole of March anyway Paul, so it doesn't matter. Just dont put the sale date down as April on the V5 otherwise they'll sting you for that too.

The refund will automatically be generated from the V5. You don't need to cancel the tax seperately

If you pick your new car up before the end of March, you will pay tax from the 1st March. You will also pay tax to the 31st March on your old car...
The only way you could get away without paying an extra months tax is to not tax the new car until the 1st April.
What a con-job... :x
Cheers, Dave
