Warning-Bears sore paw, bandage removed!

Post by Smartbear » Thu Sep 21, 2017 1:15 pm

Been to the doctors again today for another go at getting the bandage removed from my poorly paw after it became apparent during yesterday's visit that it was stuck fast to my toe.
All I can say is no wonder it smarts a bit :o

Warning-Bears sore paw, bandage removed!

When I almost lost my big toe as a teenager, the only way we could get the dressings off was to soak it in sterile water or antiseptic solution.

Used a similar method, but in a bath, when I couldn’t get the dressings off my knee after a bicycle vs lorry incident.

Same here, I sat with my foot in a bowl of water for 20mins to try & soak the bandages away from my toe :P

I worked with a guy in the early 80's who had an accident to his big toe. The hospital could do nothing for him and wanted to amputate the toe.
He was an ardent advocate of eating raw garlic and had never had an illness in over 20 years, long story short.
He crushed raw garlic and packed it around his toe he saved his toe.

He did stink though

I'm hoping for a few quid, several wits from here have suggested I could even afford a couple of extra cylinders :)

One of my old friends trained as a chef and used to rub ground Tarragon onto cuts - I read recently that it has analgesic qualities and disinfects the wound. Perhaps we're too quick to dismiss remedies that have been around for hundreds of years.

Still looks poo  - possibly worse than when you did it but at least you know its on the mend - hope it feels better at least
