Help/advice from watch experts pls

Post by obewan » Wed Oct 04, 2017 6:59 pm

I know there are some avid watch collectors and experts on here and I'm hoping you can help me identfy a watch owned by my late cousin

It has 'Carrera Heuer' on the face and 'Heuer' on the clasp
On the reverse of the clasp I think it says:
'Brevete GF Steelinox swiss made'

There is nothing on the back of the watch - does that mean it's a copy?
I've looked at various Tag Heuer sites and I think it is refered to as a Panda eyes watch, although I can't find one exactly the same
Prices seem to vary from dirt cheap to quite expensive

Can anyone tell me what it is or what it's worth?
It's in need of a clean but works (manual wind)

Thanks

Hi, onthedash.com is the place for Heuer watches. All the refs and numbers are pretty much defined. If you remove the bracelet there is numbers between the lugs, a reference on one side and serial number on the other. The bracelet itself has decent value as well. It should be kept as they rise quite steady in value. It is a Heuer Carrera, model ref between the lugs. Let me know if you need more, Stan

Hi Stan
Thanks for the info - managed to get one side off (and broke the pin :()
I can't make out the whole number - pretty sure it ends 353
If you think it has some value I'll look to see if I can get it cleaned/repaired and properly identified - I'll let them take the other side off :D
I'll check the website out you suggested as well

thanks again

Wait and find out more info on the models. By all means get it serviced but some brands with age, a lot of collectors go for, and like the aged patina. Vintage Submariners for instance fetch more money the older and knocked about they are.
