It’s not infrequently a post-viral phenomenon. The advice used to be that steroids (prednisolone) and aciclovir (an antiviral drug) hasten the recovery and increase the chances of a more complete recovery. They need to be started early though. If your GP hasn’t offered these, contact them and ask why not. I doubt the current practice has changed significantly in the last few years since my interests became purely surgical.

Thanks all.....yes was on prednisolone and aciclovir within 3 days. Thankfully I have private health so under a Consultant Neurologist and having a bit of physio. :thumbsup:

I got Bells Palsy when I was 65 then four months later I got it again!
Scarey it was beacause first time I spent the full day in the “stroke” ward. After a massive dose of Prednisalone each time it went away and hopefully never to return.
