Are the roads in North wales being gritted at the moment? A55 & A5. In particular. Plus Lamberis Pass.. I'm off with Edd (son), to climb Snowdon at the weekend. I was thinking it might be nice to take the Zed. :driving: But not if the roads are all covered in Gritting Salt.

Don't know about the A5 or LLanberis, but havn't spotted any on the A55 or rural roads yet, but weather turning colder Wednesday onwards so would think they will be out then

They were gritting the M6 by Wigan at 5pm this evening. It was 3C then. I'm over at Mach Loop/Cadair Idris tomorrow mid-morning so I'll let you know what it's like.

The A494 this morning through Ruthin and Bala was just damp but had definitely been gritted as my car and windscreen were continuously being covered in a white, greasy film. No loose grit or sand to be seen. It was 3c max up Cad East.

Great pics indeed.

Well I've filled up with V-power now, so it's the Zed for our weekend adventure up to Snowdon. Weather looks awful for both driving and walking, but a weekend with the lad will negate all such things. :D

Just how much can it possibly rain on us, on a mountain top, in North Wales, in December, any way.

Wanted to do Crib Goch. But that won't be happening on Saturday if the forecast is correct. Ice axe is packed but looks like it will warm up a bit too much to need it. :(
