Registration Opinions
Hi All,
Need you opinions, thinking about getting a private reg as below:
My name is Liam with the initials A and surname O which is why ive shortlisted these...
Which number looks most like an A? I know the 8 with a strategic screw at the bottom would look the most like an A, but i want to steer clear of that (spacing is bad enough)

I use a 4 as an A, no need for 'strategically placed' screws ... Not sure if that's an available option??

Before I read your name when I saw the first couple I thought you were trying to create the abreviation for "LMAO". In fact I LMAO
I'd use four, or six if someone's beaten you to it

Unfortunately every possibility of 4 has gone, I've already got my eye on a reg that comes out in 2014 but won't have a car to put it on for some time after. It's looking good for the number 6?
Does any anyone have issue with different spacing? Would I be an outcast for doing so?

Re: Registration Opinions
Ah just checked and it's just a fairly hefty fixed penalty fine.
Offences
Vehicles with illegally displayed number plates may FAIL the MoT
test. The police can also issue fixed penalty fines for illegally displayed number plates. Offenders are liable to a MAXIMUM
FINE of £1,000 and in some cases the mark may be withdrawn.
My mistake sorry.

As long as its not fixed points, usually it's just a £60 fine, I can live with that.

Re: Registration Opinions
I'd have said 8 because of the screw option, but I can see your point so I would say 6 is the best looking without 'modification' (have voted as such)

Re: Registration Opinions
I've heard they have a strikes system now, ie if you get done x amount of times they'll confiscate the plate I've got L8 TUS on my Elise, strategically placed screw in the 8 and it looks pretty good. However because of the above I just don't bother anymore as I really don't want to lose itLiam-O wrote:As long as its not fixed points, usually it's just a £60 fine, I can live with that.

Re: Registration Opinions
Perhaps the wrong answer, but I can only see the acronym 'LMAO' when I read those plates
Just don't get the mis-spacing, bolts, etc. and with APNR everywhere and the ploice hot on it the opportunity for them to stop me at anytime as the excuse.
I love personal plates but I just go dateless 5 digit.
