What's your job?
Thought it would be interesting to know what people do for a living to be able to afford our lovely vehicles.
I have always thought of doing a second job part-time for extra cash, or something like a small eBay based shop etc, plus it's always interesting to discover jobs which you never even think of. For example; paper towel sniffer, to ensure they are odourless (that surely must be a wind up)
If we put the details in list form so it's easy to see at a glance, and also mention if you do anything on the side for extra cash to give us ideas of potential career changes or sidelines!
1) Job
2) Brief description of role/responsibilities
3) 3 good points
4) 3 Bad points
5) Any second job/business?
I'll go first...
1) Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
2) Troubleshoot/rectify technical problems on commercial aircraft. Carry out and certify for scheduled maintenance.
3) Quite varied work, 4 days on 4 days off, relatively good salary.
4) Have to work outside in all weather (UK), 2 of the days on are nightshift, can be boring if on call.
5) Nothing yet!

1. CNC Programmer/Machinist
2. Provide programs, maintain the daily activity board, troubleshoot and many more responsibilities.
3. Steady job. Good pay. Wife works as well.
4. Long commute. It's always a "program" problem. No common sense anymore.
5. Nope, wife and I make fairly decent money.

Re: What's your job?
1) DevOps lead in the engineering department of a digital consultancy firm
2) Manage technical teams that make big web sites "go" from an IT infrastructure/environments delivery perspective
3) Get to work on some massive, high profile web sites that everybody knows about. Very varied and challenging work. My colleagues are great fun to work with and better than me at most things
4) The time spent away from home gets a bit much sometimes - often months of at least 3 days a week. Salary is not spectacular, given the hours/stress. We are a small part of a larger corporation so there is a fair amount of corporate BS to put up with
5) Nope. One job is enough!

Re: What's your job?
My turn!
Job 1: assistant at moms bail bonds office.
I mostly answer the phone, file paperwork, and refill the coffee pot because some people don't know how to do it apparently...
1) decent pay
2) good chance to learn things in the legal field.
3) simple yet rewarding.
1) I park across the street because I can't get up the driveway in my lowered 350z.
2) location isn't near my house, school, or second job!
3) no weekends off.
Job 2: I work at a trucking yard.
I mostly do all the maintenance on the trailers, and trucks. I chech tire pressure before they leave, I wash the dirt of the trucks and trailers, (they can get pulled over if police see oil or anything like that on the wheels) I help attach trailers to the trucks, or just move containers from one trailer to the other.
1) good pay
2) good hands on experience
3) driving the 18 wheelers, and forklifts is always fun.
1) i want more hours
2) dust from job site gets my zed extremely dirty.
3) no weekends off.
