Man flu and resurecting old pastimes
So, since last Friday I've had a doozie of a sore throat, like I've never had before. It's been so bad I didn't eat much for a couple of days as it was too painful to swallow anything - great for weight loss though, you should try it.
Along with that came the usual feeling that I'd gone 15 rounds with Amir Khan as the rest of whatever virus I'd picked up kicked in. All of which meant I wasn't really in the mood for doing much..... So I didn't for few hours, then the boredom began. I get bored very easily and usually it can go one of two ways, either things get broken / set on fire / blown up, or I'll find something constructive to do. I went for constructive this time and went and found Mrs Dewi's sketchpad and an old pencil I use in the garage and started doodling a few things. I've not done any drawings for years, but did it a lot when I was younger, especially cars - I was always drawing cars as a kid so it was nice to get back into it.
I may actually start doing a bit more of it now I've started again. I've found a nice technique in which I do the sketch then scan it and run it through Photoshop - there are some nice effects to be had, it's certainly something that hadn't even been thought of last time drew anything.
Efforts so far - they can only get better

Pretty good there, Dewi. Maybe you should start a thread along the lines of the "images of 2015" one, only using drawings/paintings rather than photos?
Oh, and hope the man flu subsides soon!

They're really good.
That must be a very relaxing and satisfying talent to have.

Re: Man flu and resurecting old pastimes
Thanks, Yes - feeling a bit better today. Throat is anyway, at least it's stopped bleeding now after I've eaten something and I can actually swallow without it hurting too much. I've never had a sore throat as bad as that, it was horrible. Just feeling a bit mangled the now, but off out to walk the dog in a bit to get some fresh air, I've not been out of the house for a few days - going stir crazy here. Might go down to the garage later and wax the Zed and clean it out a bit, the seats need a bit of leather treatment on them too.
Been looking at maybe changing the bike this year, a classic Norton Dominator looks quite inviting

You've definitely got a talent there - especially like the zed pic but guess I'm biased
By the way I'm no doctor but your manflu sounds a lot like tonsillitis - have you got white spots on your throat?
I never had it as a kid but I've had it a couple of times in the last few years and it really makes you feel crap and ache all over

Re: Man flu and resurecting old pastimes
Can't see any white spots but it's coming back again - thought it was going away but I'm feeling crap again today. Docs on Monday I think if it's no better by then. I feel more drawings coming on - my lad wants me to do him a Z4M Coupe. He's thinking of buying one come summer so I'm gonna do him one with flat tyres and rust spots all over it - he CANNOT have a better car than his Dad! ...........It's not allowed
