My Straton Curve Chronograph finally arrived last Friday, I've been waiting for this watch for quite some time and placed an order on a kickstarter scheme and have to say I think it was worth the wait, worth a visit on their website if your interested in racing inspired watches.

I like that one Tim, about £500 I think so not outrageous, but enough! Which back and movement did you go for? I see you got the gloves as well, assuming that is you in the pics!

It has the mecca quartz movement and thought twice about ordering one as would have preferred mechanical but I do love the retro style and swapped out the leather strap for their mesh strap, the rear of the case has the BBS alloy wheel design. I've found the company great to deal with and owner Kyle is a top bloke and keeps you informed on the manufacture progress. It normally takes 3 to 4 months after placing an order on a new release to receiving the watch.

Sorry I couldn't resist the pics in the Z3  Straton also do driving gloves but the ones I'm wearing I've had some time from another source :)

Does anyone use an automatic watch winder ?

I'm waiting for one to arrive from evilbay, it can be set to go clock or anti clockwise.
Does it make any difference to which way it's set to go ?

My watch Breitling Superocean heritage 46.

Sorry if this has been talked about but didn't feel like trawling through 40 odd pages.

I use one daily for my Tag Monaco Gulf, I tend to switch it on when I get home from work and off again at the end of the evening, I think it runs for an hour or so then comes back on and so on. I tend to set it to go clockwise lol although I don't think it makes much difference.

Some movements are directional (ie, can only be wound in one direction) but most are bi-directional so it doesn't matter which way the autowinder turns.
Yours is bi-directional.

Just don't buy a rubbish winder (look at what you spent on your watch) - don't skimp on a winder as quality can vary greatly, even down to how noisy they are.

If it's the three hander then it's an eta 28xx based movement and winds in both directions. If its the chrono it's a 7750 base calibre and only winds one way.

It depends how often you wear it as to weather a winder is any use most will have a 40+ hour power reserve so if you put it on more than once every two days a winder us pointless.

Personally I'm of the school of thought that winders are a waste of time.... Firstly I'd need one for 30+ automatic watches so it would be huge but also due to mechanical inaccuracies even on cosc watches I'd still likely be adjusting them by the time I got round to wearing them even if only the dates.

I also think it's better not to have the watch running constantly with extra unnecessary wear on all the gears, you don't leave your engine running when you park your car up

Bought a LM Racing (Black) after seeing ZermattV's post in the Cheap-ish watches thread. Gave it to someone as a present but decided I really needed an Omologato watch. So here's my new cheapie (expensive for me!):
