Same as you toyed with the idea and glad I pulled the trigger, it's my cheapest watch and since it landed I have not took it off. I can honestly say I have never fell in love with a piece so quickly. Get it done if you find you do not like it so easy to flip it on. I will add a black sailcloth strap off Amazon soon and at £25 notes it's cheap as chips

Will put it on the list when the fund has something in it :P

Having sold a silver Casio MT-G GPS a few months ago, I decided to try the distressed black one as a deal from a shop in Milton Keynes. Lucky timing yesterday, as back at full price now

Hoping the black is a little less bling, might be more subtle too given the size. Quite like the epitome of anti-Swiss. The silver grabbed so much attention, more than any other watch - Rolex & Panerai included :o

Arrives Thursday I hope.

Well, it arrived, and is still wrapped in its plastic. It doesn't come with a light, just lume. Never expected that from a G Shock, especially one that retails for the wrong side of £1k.....having done some research, the MTG-G (my last one), has LED illumination, but the MTG-S do not.

Am now deciding whether to resize the bracelet & just live with it, or return it. Whilst the light isn't used that often, as a travel watch with multiple time zones it was a god send - navigating strange hotel rooms at night without turning lights on etc (the LED was that bright!), alongside the obvious of checking the time :P .

The distressed black certainly has a lot less bling factor. To get a distressed MTG-G, it needs to be rose gold effect which just isn't me really. Plus given the bargain half price deal I got this one for, I'd have to find another £800 and frankly that isn't worth it for a G Shock. Even the price I paid was a stretch.

Ho hum, decisions.

I'm starting to get into Microbrand watches as took delivery a while back of the Straton Curve Chrono which I subscribed to on a Kickstarter scheme. Quality, weight and build is superb and like the fact with Microbrand watches you are far less likely to see another as generally very limited runs.

Deicided to go with another brand called Boldr who did a kickstarter on their Journey watch last year so after trying to track down one still for sale have ordered from Germany which is the Wasp model. Was attracted to this watch due to the domed mineral crystal face which distorts around the edges and layered dial with numeric and baton cutouts. Not an expensive watch at 250 quid but attractive as a daily wearer.

Yes they went with my string backed helmet. Use to wear them in the Z3 as my aluminium knob would freeze in winter :?
