The BBC really did drop a clanger letting it go. I will watch Episode 3 tonight.Ducklakeview wrote:About to watch EP3, hoping it's better than EP2!
As an aside, apparently it cost Amazon a quarter of a billion dollars to "acquire" the show? But it looks like they are reaping the rewards already..

Hmm... Ep3, and in my opinion, it's a little better..
Liked the three cars, glad to see "the american" appears to have gone good job, as he'd probably be yee-hah'ing in the Dodge.
But the dying celeb is getting boring now, I just don't see the point to it?
And James May using the "B" word?? Bit out of character that! (57:15 when he was on the ladder)

Ep3 a definite improvement on last week. But watched it while under the influence of Peroni and NiQuil so could have been an illusion!
The celeb bit is pretty wasteful and self-indulgent isnt it?

Episode 1 last night , great entertainment with some top motors & top filming ( those country roads in Portugal looked terrific)
Definitely feel the 3 have been "cut loose" with jokes closer to the bone looking forward to the rest of the series

Watched Ep3 last night - enjoyed it much more than Ep2; the tour through Italy was breath taking
We use that car park at Whitby; initially I thought they may be driving some of the great roads around North Yorkshire, but its obvious now that the tent's location has nothing to do with the programme content.

Just started watching Ep4, is it just me, or did anyone else feel seasick with the way the camera was bobbing up and down in the tent when facing the water??
But - JESUS H C! That GT3RS - 500bhp from a normally aspirated 4 ltr?? And it gets to 9,000 rpm WTF!
Jezza wasn't a fan of the M4 GTS though...

Thought I was watching a repeat of last weeks to begin with. Back at Whitby again. I've watched up to the end of Clarkson's 911 GT3 review - loving it so far

At that point now - Must say it looks fantastic in UHD, why did I watch the last 3 in boggo HD?? The camera work is spot on!
Mike
EDIT - Oh FFS, the American is back... At 16:30, he says - "Driving a BMW, BRITISH motor works" KNOB!

I've just managed to watch 1 and 2 back to back, 1 was great but 2 was pretty dire and so weirdly 'flat' I'm ashamed to say I actually fast-forwarded quite a bit of it. I'll take a breather before trying 3 but from what you guys are saying it gets a bit better so here's hoping.
........ certainly not worth taking out an Amazon prime subscription for so glad I tried it for free on a 3.14159key streaming site

Episode 1 - promising (some parts excellent) and thought they'd need time to settle the format
Episode 2 - very different to the first - self indulgent and boring - started to get worried
Episode 3 - felt a little relieved as it improved
Episode 4 - if I was to watch it again I'd fast forward a lot . . . . . . . oh dear, I so want it to work.
Episode 5 - I'm hoping . . . . . . .
