Wheeler dealers did a conversion on a Maserati biturbo on Monday. Not my cup of tea, but each to there own.

To be fair, the Mazza had already been converted by a previous owner, they updated it to use more modern motors & battery tech - personally I thought it was a much more interesting episode than their normal 'same-old-same-old'Zoomer wrote:Wheeler dealers did a conversion on a Maserati biturbo on Monday. Thanks for the link Tim.....didn't think it would get universal praise on an enthusiasts forum but interesting all the same!!!
Looks a very clean car and should be corrosion free if it's lived all it's life on Malta......might be worth converting back to fossil fuel in a few years time!!......but not at a starting price of £28K.
It's a funny old world we live in

The z3 is actually a pretty popular car to convert to ev.
There's also a guy here in the netherlands that did a similar construction (and that was a very high quality build I must say, runs on 420V) and there are several german ones.
The biggest problem with a car like this is its complexity and servicability. Because the car is completely re-engineerd with totally different technology, there is a lot of reverse engineering to be done if there is a problem and you want to troubleshoot.
These are usually hobby projects from people with a msc or doctorate in electronic engineering.
In short: if something breaks... you're f***ed.

No point in buying a lekky motor for anything else than going shopping in until they sort out the battery life.
