I thought the folding wing mirrors were manual on my car 2003 z4 2.5i. That's how I've been folding them. I didn't even know they folded until a sheep decided to scratch it's head on one while I was down in Cornwall. I thought it'd broken it until it clicked into place. Have they only put electronic folding mirrors on the 2003 3.0. Seems a bit strange or were they another pay as you go option?
Apparently, it's a rare option on the E85. Mine has an extra button next to the mirror switch.
So yours fold? Cool. They left the extra button off of mine along with the cup holders in the air vents to minimize weight. Gives an extra 3hp.

Seeing how the mirrors fold on an E85, with the glass facing upwards towards the sky when folded, I'm not particularly bothered that I don't have it as an option.
The reason; well if you've seen the size of the duckshit splatters that sometimes occur here in Holland that's the last thing you want to be cleaning out of the mirror enclosure!
As most houses here in Holland are surrounded by fake waterways, canals and channels they're a haven for the duckies who seem to take great pleasure in targeting my zed just after it's been washed! bastids.

WOW! Carly support staff working late:

Hello Chris
Many thanks for your email
Yes we have some problems on some phones with the newest version - I am not sure which ones are affected - but it seems mainly some 4s
Since you have a jailbroken phone you should have access to the crash log - I hope :)
Could you please try that and send me the crash log for Carly BMW if you find it here as described
That would really help us a lot since we do not have any phone where it crashes.
Many thanks

Not really Fred. Not when you consider they have a bombing spread pattern of approx 6'+.
This particular ducky would have made a lovely stripe top to toe on either me or Lau had its' timing been a bit more accurate!

That's like napalm style bombing. That would not be fut cleaning off of a softtop. Especially if it dried.

You can not code that firebobby, the car can not do that with lock / unlock. The bus does not give signals for that, it is a pure mechanical folding function (via switch).

Well according to this, it can be done PVR ??

Postby willgill » Fri Jan 06, 2017 10:24 pm

yes, if you have them, they were an incredibly rare option on the e85. The option is codeable though :)

Comfort fold/unfold for mirrors 1/3
• active
• not active
When holding the lock/unlock button on the remote the sideview mirrors automatically fold/unfold. In order to activate this function, set the other two settings to ‘active’. (codable in GM5)
Comfort fold/unfold for mirrors 2/3
• active
• not active
When holding the lock/unlock button on the remote the sideview mirrors automatically fold/unfold. In order to activate this function, set the other two settings to ‘active’. (codable in GM5)

Comfort fold/unfold for mirrors 3/3
• active
• not active

I am sorry, it will not work. I have tried everything and that was the response I got back when measuring the bus signal when folding my mirrors.

I provided the diagnostics file to the manufacturer and that is what they told me - the pressing of the button does NOT generate signals that can be replicated by anything else.

Carly is nice - but a lot of functions that are on the menu do not actually work on the car.

Oh well, I did think that was the case PVR, but was told the above info. Never mind then.
