Driving practise/courses?

Post by JAD » Wed Feb 22, 2017 11:58 am

Hi folks,

My Z is my first RWD car and, although I regularly drive my fathers raft of more powerful RWD vehicles, I still feel I'm not 100% in tune with the ability of the car.

Now, I have been on track in several cars, but never my own. I don't like the idea of the risk (yes I know there is track day insurance) nor the strain tracking cars is likely to put on a road vehicle. But I love the fact it really allows you to push the vehicle harder and learn the limits of what you and it can do.

Has anyone any suggestions on courses or other ideas to really get the best out of the car?

you could start with the likes of ROSPA or IAM Roadsmart...

this forum also organises a few informal driving days on lovely roads where others give you guidance etc...

Then there's this which I can't recommend highly enough :D High Performance Course

I've been on a carlimits day that's pretty good for car control in a safe environment

Seconded car limits although Andy Walsh doesn't appear to be instructing them at the moment....maybe taking some time out, there's another chap running the courses though.
